UPV DSS’ BA Psych, BS Economics programs undergo EQA Assessment

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology and the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Economics degree programs of the College of Arts and Sciences – Division of Social Sciences (CAS-DSS), University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), underwent an External Quality Assurance (EQA) Assessment from Jan. 28 to 30, 2026.

The University invited external reviewers to help maintain the quality and relevance of these academic programs. As part of the process, the reviewers interviewed stakeholders and visited some of UPV’s facilities.

The EQA Assessment Team was composed of Dr. Alyssa M. Peleo-Alampay, UP System Asst. Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Agham Cuevas, UP Los Baños Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Dr. Nina Cadiz from the UP Los Baños – Institute of Biological Sciences, and Dr. Melflor Atienza from the UP Manila – National Teaching Training Center for the Health Professions.

The assessment process was officially opened in a program held at the Miagao Interactive Learning Center (MILC), CAS, UPV Miagao campus on Jan. 28 and concluded with the external reviewers’ presentation of preliminary findings during the closing program on Jan. 30 at the GCEB Training Rooms, UPV Iloilo City campus.

With the completion of the assessment process, DSS’ BA Psychology and BS Economics now join its BA Sociology, BA History, and BA Community Development as programs that have undergone the EQA Assessment.
